Anthony Smith
Cruise Ship Lecturer
Anthony Smith (b. 1984) is one of the most experienced cruise ship lecturers of his generation.
He has presented hundreds of lectures on board more than 65 cruises visiting all seven continents of the world.
Anthony has circumnavigated the globe aboard a tall ship, worked as a television presenter, published a book, visited Antarctica twenty times, the North Pole three times, designed a coin for the UK, and his bronze statues have been unveiled by HRH Prince Phillip, Sir David Attenborough, and the King and Queen of Sweden.
Anthony’s lectures draw on his background in zoology (University of Cambridge), art and art history, and his award-winning photography (BBC Wildlife and National Geographic). His fascinating lectures aim to enhance, educate and entertain.
Anthony’s presenting career began in 2009 when he worked as a television presenter for a documentary series about the life and travels of Charles Darwin. This series involved an eight-month adventure, resailing the Voyage of HMS Beagle around the world on board a beautiful, three masted tallship, during which Anthony featured as one of the presenters. Anthony has been presenting and lecturing ever since, shedding light on fascinating subjects in entertaining and eye-opening ways.
‘Anthony is one of the most engaging lecturers we have had the pleasure to spend time with. As well as being a highly talented bronze sculptor, Anthony has the ability to make his lectures fun, insightful and personal as well as imparting a great deal of knowledge. I highly recommend him as both a presenter and a dinner companion!’
